Responsibly Managed Forests

The book we hold in our hands began as a tree in a forest, and the forest does not belong to our generation alone.

Paper from Responsibly Managed Forests

We print most of our books on paper certified by forest conservation organizations; paper that comes from responsibly managed forests, where biodiversity is protected and the rights of workers and local communities are respected. This choice costs us more, but we see it as part of the craft of bookmaking, not an extra expense.

The Book That Lasts

A book made to last, to be read again and again, given as a gift, and passed down, takes from the earth once and gives for a long time. A book that is used up and thrown away takes more than it gives. We take care with paper, binding, and printing, not for beauty alone, but because a book that lasts is kinder to the earth.
